Roads & Infrastructure

The Jabal Omar development in Makkah harnesses complex roads and infrastructure networks that defy the small 22-hectare project area with 16 km of roads network inclusive of expressways and tunnels, a 7 km long sewage collection network and a 7 km long storm water network. This multilayered roads system seamlessly interacts with its surroundings resulting in a mixture of tunnels and surface roads. The established trunk networks lend themselves to phasing, thus connecting with the existing networks around the city and the proposed utility area within the project. Electrical power is backed up by stand-by generators and a centralized chilled water production plan was conceived to use thermal energy storage to optimize overall energy usage.
