Riding on the proximity to the Beirut Sports City development, the Beirut Sports City Commercial Center (BSCCC) was intended to further consolidate the post-war reconstruction efforts and enhance the urban development of Beirut's southern entrance area. The proposed 120,000 m2 of retail space, intimately linked to leisure facilities, was located within a 15-minute reach of an area housing close to 600,000 people. Extensive parking space for up to 6,700 cars and comprehensive service and storage areas were also suggested as part of the project, which begun with extensive marketing surveys that revealed the significant market potential for retail outlets located within the proposed BSCCC.
