The Technical and Vocational School in Edde (Jbeil) was proposed as part of a national drive led by the Ministry of Technical and Professional Education to build schools and institutes across the country and meet the increasing employment demand for technical professionals.

In addition to 2,500 m2 of workshops, the school incorporates 2,800 m2 of classes and laboratories, a 300-seat amphitheater, a 950 m2 library with computerized archive and a 650 m2 administration block. The Edde school can form up to 620 students per year in a variety of fields including architectural drafting, electrical and electronic skills, commercial sciences, car and truck mechanics. Additional facilities made available include basketball courts, open landscaped fields and a 800 m2 gymnasium.
