Education, Health & Religious

The American University of Jordan was set to elevate the academic standards of higher
education in Jordan, offering 8,800 students a choice of training in multiple fields within
five different academic faculties. Particular focus was placed on fields adapted to regional
strengths and demand such as tourism management, desert studies and marine biology.

Offering extensive academic and support facilities and set in beautifully landscaped sites,
the university would have campuses in both Amman and Aqaba, with the former envisioned to
form an anchor of the capital's new Business Central District, and the latter promoting
specialized education catering to the touristic and industrial character of the area such as
marine biology, or deserts studies.
